I've been thinking a lot about how to present this dating project. One friend had the idea of letting a group of my friends take over. My friends would hold an audition, they would pick the guys, they would tell the stories from their perspective and my dating project would, in fact, be their dating project with me as the guinea pig. I thought that sounded fun and I would have been grateful to my friends for the enormous amount of time and effort that idea would have required. However, it's just not me. I want to be the one telling the stories of each date. I want to pick the guys. Although, my friends can and will definitely help. But most of all, I don't want to hold an audition. I don't feel like I have the ego to support an audition and I don't want any of the guys to feel like it's a competition. I want and need to keep this project true to who I am.
The truth is, I came up with the idea to put myself out there and go on 30 dates during the 30 days before my 30th birthday. It's true that I run the risk of looking completely pathetic, but that's a risk I'm willing to take. Hopefully this project will not only be fun for me but it will also be fun for my friends and family who will follow this blog.
To be fair, I thought I should answer the same questions the guys must answer when they sign up.
